District - As the Starnberg district office announced in a press release published today, for next Monday, January 17th, in the areas of the city of Starnberg and in the areas of the municipalities of Gilching, Gauting and Herrsching, all stationary or moving meetings in connection with protests against corona measures (e.g. “Monday walks” or “candle demonstrations”) are prohibited. According to the district office, the ban only applies if the notification and notification obligation under the Bavarian Assembly Act has not been complied with.

“We can only contain our galloping infection numbers if such gatherings also have a reasonable framework. However, this only works if you have cooperative meeting leaders and not organizers who consciously evade any responsibility and simply let the meetings take their course. Not only is this illegal, it is fooling everyone. And that at a time when we are trying everything we can to finally get the pandemic under control," explains District Administrator Stefan Frey.

Demonstrations directed against the fight against the pandemic can still be carried out after prior registration with the district office and in accordance with the conditions issued there, provided there is no immediate danger to public safety.

According to the Bavarian Assembly Act, a registration period of 48 hours before the intended start must be observed, whereby Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are not included, according to a press release issued by the district office.
