It's the season of promises.
Valérie Pécresse made a commitment last week to
"bring the Kärcher out of the cellar"
to restore order in our streets, Emmanuel Macron, he prefers to draw the checkbook.
He promised Monday an additional 15 billion euros over five years for the Ministry of the Interior, in order to double the number of police officers on the ground by 2030. If he is re-elected, of course.
Everyone will judge the credit that can be given to such commitments, but it is in any case happy that the President of the Republic is today confirming the forces of order after having cast suspicion on them, by accusing them for example carry out facies checks (interview with Brut, December 2020).
