Miesbach – The Oldtimerfreunde Miesbach recently congratulated two members on special occasions: the youngest and one of their oldest.
Helmut Meier, one of the oldest active members of the Oldtimerfreunde Miesbach (OFM), celebrated his 80th birthday between the holidays.
The board members of the association used the occasion to pay a short visit to the jubilee and also to welcome the youngest member of the association, Florian Führer.
The "Gmias vom Stadtplatz", as Helmut Meier is called, lived up to his reputation as a classic car enthusiast on his 80th birthday.
Erhard Pohl and his OFM board colleagues Erich Sterrer and Reinhard Megele met Meier "of course in work clothes in his workshop", as Pohl explains.
Meier still gives his team a lot of gas in sand track races.
He takes it easy on the trips for vintage car enthusiasts, and Meier is always there with his bright red Bungartz tractor.
Meier also supports the club "with his extensive experience as a mechanic", as Pohl explains.
The three board members also welcomed the youngest member of the association to visit “Gmias”.
"One is 80, the other eight, that fits," says Pohl, not only.
Florian Führer received his OFM membership card and club watch for Christmas.
“Although he also likes to play football, he takes every opportunity to be with his foster father David Kahl during his restorations,” says Pohl.
There's enough work in the family, because Kahl, also very active and a member of the board, works on more than a dozen restoration projects.
The eight-year-old already enjoys watching and driving in a vintage car – and now as an official club member.
