Then there were only seven: In an accident on Friday morning, January 14, one of the eight traffic lights in Haging was bypassed.

Frauenneuharting

- The eight traffic light masts in the open near Haging are something of a Frauenneuharting attraction.

Because, despite the clear view, there were always serious accidents there, with injuries and even one death, the municipality created a remedy with red lights - which surprised the taxpayers' association, among others, in 2007.

In fact, there are now fewer crashes at the four-way junction.

But it happened on Friday at sunrise: According to the police, a Mercedes minibus driver and an Audi driver (25 and 24) from the region rushed together despite the traffic lights working.

The bus (seen in the photo in the background) came to a halt in the field, not before shaving a traffic light pole clean.

The individual parts were distributed in the field - the cars also suffered severe body damage and had to be towed away.

Police are investigating because of the question of guilt: Both drivers want to have seen green

Nobody got hurt.

It is unclear who drove on red, both drivers claimed they had green.

The police estimate the property damage at 7,000 euros.

The same rules as before apply to motorists crossing the traffic lights until the traffic lights are repaired: the route between Haging and Frauenneuharting has the right of way.

Anyone coming from the direction of Jakobneuharting or Baumberg must stop completely at the stop sign.

It remains to be hoped that the failed traffic light will not lead to further accidents and that the repairs will be completed quickly.
