The rain will continue to fall tonight (Friday) from the north of the country to the northern Negev, and will be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. In the coastal plain there is a slight fear of flooding, and in the Negev streams, the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea - fear of floods, so also later this week. The rains and thunderstorms will intensify and continue tomorrow, and Mount Hermon, which is painted white, will continue to snow. The Meteorological Service warns of flooding, high water for Mediterranean ships and mountain mists.
Later this week the rain will weaken in the north and center of the country, but temperatures will continue to be low and it will be colder than usual for the season. In the Negev it will continue to rain. On Sunday it will still rain accompanied by hail and strong winds - but it will stop towards the evening hours. Snow will continue to fall on Mount Hermon, and this may also be the case in the northern Golan Heights.
On Monday and Tuesday, a respite with clear skies is expected, but the rainy weather will return on Wednesday, with showers in the north of the country, in the center and in the Negev, fear of floods in the Jordan Valley, Judean Desert and Dead Sea, and snow falling on Mount Hermon.
About five cm of snow has fallen so far on Mount Hermon, which will continue to be snowy later this week. The site will be closed to visitors today and tomorrow. The level of the Sea of Galilee has risen by one centimeter since yesterday
