investigations are ongoing
According to internal information, a department head in the Ministry of Defense is said to have brought a Bundeswehr auxiliary unit including an emergency generator to her private home in the Ahr Valley through several calls, as the magazine reported on Friday.
The soldiers were supposed to clean mud from the conservatory of the damaged building and were therefore unable to help with significantly more damaged houses in the region.
The legal department has been conducting inquiries about the information since the end of October, reports
Der Spiegel
.
According to an initial assessment, the process could even be relevant under criminal law.
The ministry did
not want to comment on the case in detail to
Der Spiegel .
No comment: the ministry and department heads are silent on allegations that have been circulated
A spokeswoman told the magazine "that if there is any suspicion of possible misconduct in the office, an investigation will be initiated."
The officer herself declined to answer questions about the case, the report said.

Spiegel
information, a lieutenant colonel is said to have given his superior general preferential treatment.
In connection with the flood disaster, an opencast mine operator is now also suspected of having caused a flood in Erftstadt through negligence.
