Prince Andrew faces abuse allegations

The Queen's son's lawyers want to question the husband and the psychologist of the plaintiff Virginia Giuffre about the allegations of abuse against the British Prince Andrew.

This is shown by court documents reported by the PA news agency and the broadcaster Sky.

Virginia Giuffre's psychologist, Judith Lightfoot, is to be consulted about whether Giuffre "may be suffering from false memories," according to the Guardian.

She is also to disclose any medications she has prescribed for Giuffre, Andrew's attorneys say, according to court documents.

Robert Giuffre, the plaintiff's husband, is being asked by the attorneys to answer questions about the couple's finances and the circumstances in which he met his wife in 2002.

Interviews are to take place before the end of April

Both Robert Giuffre and Lightfoot would have to be questioned under oath via video link from Australia, where they both live, if the US judge and Australian authorities grant the request, the Guardian reports.

Andrew's attorneys want them to be questioned before April 29 "or as soon as possible after."

Giuffre's lawyers are said to be seeking testimony from Andrew's former assistant and a woman who says she saw the prince at a nightclub.

Queen stripped her son of all military ranks

Prince Andrew faces a civil lawsuit in the United States.

Giuffre accuses him of repeatedly abusing her around 20 years ago when she was a minor.

She is said to have been brokered to Andrew by the US multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who has since died.

Andrew denies the allegations.

The 61-year-old had recently failed in his attempt to stop the civil lawsuit with an application.

The Queen had stripped her second eldest son of all military ranks and patronage after demands from the military, clearly distancing herself from him.
