MK Sharan Hashakel gives new hope: "If Netanyahu leaves, everything is open"

MK Sharan Hashakel (New Hope) today referred to the option that opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu sign a plea deal and retire at least temporarily from political life and said it still exists, which may naturally affect the coalition as well.

At a "cultural" event in Hadera, the mind said that "if Netanyahu leaves, everything is open. There are hard-working, ideological people in the Likud. "If there are primaries and who will be in charge of the Likud. It matters whether Dudi Amsalem or Nir Barkat and Yuli Edelstein stand. As soon as scenarios come, we will know how to deal with them."

Riots in Tel Sheva

The Israeli police dispersed a violent riot in front of the police station in the Bedouin locality of Tel Sheva last night (Friday).

During the riot, stones and Molotov cocktails were thrown at the police station and fireworks were fired at it.

In response, police used means to disperse demonstrations and arrested one of the rioters.

The riot is a continuation of the wave of riots in recent days, due to the JNF's intention to plant trees in the Negev, in what was perceived by the Bedouin residents as an attempt to push them from the lands they claim ownership of.

Progress in nuclear talks with Iran

A source close to the nuclear talks between Iran and the five powers in Vienna told Reuters last night that progress had been made between the parties on the way to renewing the nuclear agreement.

The source claimed that the parties were approaching decisive moments, in his words, and that the atmosphere in Vienna had improved.

The source noted that one of the ideas currently floating in the negotiating room is the removal of sanctions on Iran while imposing restrictions on its nuclear program in the "two days of return to agreements".

In addition, the parties discussed a mechanism that would prevent the re-imposition of sanctions in the event of unilateral retirement by the US.

A tsunami hit the Tonga Islands following an underwater eruption

Huge waves hit today on Tongatpo Island, the main island of the Tonga Islands kingdom after an underwater volcanic eruption caused a tsunami wave.

Residents of the island, who received a tsunami warning just minutes before the waves arrived, fled to higher areas of the small island.

No casualties are known at this time, but according to videos uploaded to social media, extensive damage was done to buildings on the island, including in the capital Nuku'alofa.

Mary Panoa, a local journalist, told foreign media: "We had a very scary hour. We heard a huge explosion from the volcanic island that is 65 kilometers away from us, and then we saw a big white wave advancing towards the shoreline."
