Amid a remarkable turnout from children and their families, the Children's Theater Festival performances began today, which includes 38 different works between traditional works, puppet theater and dance performances, presented by public and private groups in the stages and centers of 11 governorates.

The festival, which is held annually by the Directorate of Theaters and Music during the midterm holiday, opened its performances in Damascus from the red stage through the play Fella and the Seven Dwarfs, written by Hisham Kafarneh and directed by Bassam Hamidi.

In the show inspired by the famous story, the children found an opportunity for a live encounter that the theater provides between them and their beloved characters.

The show, which was produced by the Mayar Foundation in cooperation with the Directorate of Theaters, reflected the scenography of a new form of children's theater that simulates the vocabulary of the era in a modern form that suits the interests of young people in our time.

Although he relied on a traditional story, the author Kafarneh was able to present the story with a new template that entertained him with moral and educational values, and Ihab Moradani's music played a major role in moving the event and attracting the audience of children and their parents who harmonized with the show in a distinctive way.

On the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Hasakah, the National Theater Department presented the show of Al-Baha Farm, which will last for three days. The Children's Theater Festival has turned into a beautiful event that pervades the various theaters of the governorates and forms a state of communication with children during the school break.

Actors Faisal Hameed, Youssef Shaker and Salman Al-Asyoud, who played the characters of the energetic rooster, horse and lazy sheep in the show, Al-Baha Farm, talked about the roles they played for children's beloved animals to provide messages to youngsters with the aim of promoting good values ​​and good habits in their souls.

In Lattakia, the show “Guest of the Bear” by Elissar theater group opened the festival’s activities on the stage of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in the city. The show included a set of important tips for the safety of the child and raising his awareness of the importance of staying away from deceitful people through a tale of a group of children’s beloved forest animals.

The director of the show and director of the Elissar theater group, Nidal Adeera, stressed the importance of the festival, which attracts a large number of children and their families every year, which constitutes an incentive for theatrical teams to participate in the festival’s activities through new and purposeful shows that carry fun and interest and establish the foundations of real theater in the child’s imagination through text, idea and method Display.

In its first performances, the festival attracted a large audience of children and parents, such as Elizabeth Mustafa, who attended with her children and stressed the importance of children spending their holidays in pursuing cultural and artistic activities that bring them interest and entertainment and keep them away from the sway of electronic devices. What an enjoyable and beautiful experience.

In Tartous, the Ninar troupe inaugurated the festival's activities on the stage of the National Theater with a lyrical performance titled "The Joy of Childhood".

Director of the National Theater in the governorate, Ghada Issa, pointed out that the importance of the festival is that it is an opportunity for children to present their artistic talents during the middle holiday and to benefit from them in a positive and fruitful manner, indicating that watching children’s theater is not limited to young people but adults as well, which motivates children to develop their artistic and aesthetic sense and provide the best.

The director of the work and director of the Ninar band, Yasser Dallah, said that the show included 35 boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old.

A number of children expressed their happiness with this participation, which gave them the opportunity to stand on the stage for the first time, to be a test for them in the first place, and the beginning of a path to success in talent as well as excellence in the field of study.

A number of attendees found that this work showed new and distinct talents for children of young ages, emphasizing the importance of heading for the new generation to invest their leisure time in something meaningful artistic and to build their capabilities and provide them with great attention and care.

The National House of Books Theater in Aleppo witnessed the opening of the festival's performances through the play of Giddo Ghassan TV, prepared and directed by Ghassan Makkansi.

And Mohamed Hegazy, director of the house and director of the National Theater, indicated that the festival is held every year to present a variety of purposeful and useful theatrical activities that take care of the culture of the child, cultivate values, and send noble messages to him to take home with him, in addition to spending a good time during the holiday break.

The artist Makkansi Maad and director of the show explained that "Gedo Ghassan TV" carries noble values ​​such as honesty, honesty and cleanliness, and is keen to alert children to the importance of adhering to these values.

A number of children's parents expressed the importance of these performances in raising the awareness of youngsters in an attractive way and far from preaching and indoctrination.

On the stage of the House of Culture in Daraa, the Hatem Ali Troupe for Dramatic Arts presented the show “Maarouf Al-Iskafi”, prepared and directed by the artist Firas Al-Moqbel.

The show, according to its director, included an awareness and educational message for children about the importance of education, staying away from war remnants and following precautionary measures to prevent the Corona virus. A number of attendees expressed their happiness with the work and the way the actors performed their roles perfectly.

Among the heroes of the work, Muhammad al-Momani stated that he embodied the role of Doctor Raouf, who provides treatment and advice to children about diseases and the importance of avoiding infection and staying away from Western bodies left by the war in order to preserve their lives, noting that the work was presented in a comic way to deliver the educational and awareness message to children in an easy and simple way.

And participated in the work Youssef Abu Hamad, Ahmed Abboud, Muhammad Mahamid, Nour Al-Maani, Muwaffaq Al-Muqbil and Ritaj Al-Muqbil, in addition to Muhammad Al-Momani and Firas Al-Muqbil. As for the work’s song, it was written by Muhammad Al-Momani and composed by Ahmed Aboud.

Shadow Theater was the first to attend the opening of the festival’s performances in Sweida through the work hosted by the Palace of Culture in the city entitled “Imagination”.

The play, prepared and directed by Akram Ghazlan, came with lovely tools that are close to children, such as clothes, flowers, wheat ears, simple decor and bright lighting that simulates children to distance themselves from violence and fight it with love with projections on reality through a tale whose content is the love of roses and protection from abusers.

Ghozlan explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the show is semi-gestural and its visual scenes liberate the child's imagination and enter him in an atmosphere of joy and interaction and push him to think, give solutions and how to act and renounce violence in dealing with others.

Director Rifaat Al-Hadi, head of the theater department, stated that two theatrical works were prepared for the festival, from adults to young children, and from young people to young ones, with the aim of providing fun and interest for children, noting the importance of holding this festival to occupy our children's free time with what is useful artistically and intellectually.
