A rare fatal traffic accident occurred in Cheung Chau. Today (16th) at 12:00 noon, a 5-year-old girl was suspected of falling from a three-wheeled electric vehicle on Changgui Road. She suffered a head injury and was in a coma. She was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Police cordoned off the scene for investigation, suspecting that the girl was neglected and the accident occurred.
Cheung Chau is located on an outlying island. There are only a small number of vehicles on the island, including fire trucks and ambulances. Due to the narrow streets on the island and the small design of vehicles, citizens generally walk or use bicycles to travel. If they carry heavy loads, they can only use tractors.
According to a neighbor surnamed Huang, the family involved is surnamed Liang, with three generations living in the same house. They are native residents of Cheung Chau. They moved to Daguiwan New Village about 6 to 7 years ago. There are now 8 to 9 people in the family, including the 5-year-old girl who died in this accident. .
The family bought a three-wheeled electric vehicle about a year ago with a body at the back. They usually use the electric vehicle to go home after shopping down the mountain, but they seldom use it. Most of them call the store for home delivery.
Huang continued to point out that at the time of the incident, his grandfather bought rice and frozen meat at the foot of the mountain, and his 5-year-old granddaughter was sitting in the car. He was severely injured on the ground, blood flowed, and soon fell into a coma, and unfortunately passed away after being sent to the hospital.
Huang couldn't help but sighed at the accident, "It's really Yin Gongla."
The electric vehicle involved was taken away by the police for further examination.
