Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that the illegal presence of US forces in Syria and the attacks launched by the Zionist entity on its lands represent an obstacle to a political solution to the crisis there.
The Iranian news agency (IRNA) quoted Abdullahian as saying, during his meeting today in Tehran, with the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen, that “the solution to the crisis in Syria can only be directed in the right direction by paying attention to the issue of the displaced Syrians and canceling the imposed unilateral Western coercive measures.” on her".
For his part, Pedersen reiterated the need to preserve Syria's territorial integrity and political stability.
Pedersen met yesterday with the Iranian Foreign Ministry's senior advisor on political affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, who stressed the need to exert efforts by the United Nations to lift the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, provide humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, return the displaced, and facilitate the reconstruction and reconstruction process in the country.
