The series The Fruits of Minds, issued by the Syrian General Book Organization, presented in its 20th issue a book containing a summary of Al-Rihani's literature under the title (The Chosen Ones from Al-Rihaniyat), signed by the writer Deeb Ali Hassan.
Amin al-Rihani is a comprehensive writer considered the closest poet to philosophers in his time, which was full of transformations that called for contemplation of everything from the political situation to society and its diseases and his call for renewal in poetry and life.
In the book (The Chosen Ones from Al-Rihaniyat), a group of Al-Rihani's forward-looking visions and his life stances, as he spent most of his years in New York City, were in a world of contradictions.
The book includes a biography of Al-Rihani, who was born in the northern Matn of Mount Lebanon in 1876, studied at a school that was located under an olive tree, and immigrated to America at the age of 12. He was passionate about reading and became a well-known writer. He moved between Lebanon and America, visited most Arab countries, and wrote in journalism, philosophy and poetry. And he adopted the causes of his homeland and his nation until his death in 1940.
The book talks about the effects of Al-Rihani in thought, poetry and philosophy, including the book “Extremism and Reformation, the Light of Al-Andalus and Al-Rihaniyya.”
The book includes examples of visions of this great writer confirming his national and patriotic affiliation to Syria, his celebration of his Arabism, and his call for renewal in literature and poetry.
The book is located in 103 pages of medium size, and it is mentioned that the author Hassan holds a license in the Arabic language and worked as a journalist in Al-Thawra newspaper and as a secretary for editing cultural affairs in it.
