The rains that fell across the country in the last day caused flooding in various areas in Israel, which caused the resident of the Amishav neighborhood in the city to do something unusual.

The heavy rains that have fallen over the past day have caused flooding in various areas around the country, causing the Petah Tikva resident to take advantage of the situation this morning (Sunday) to do something that many probably never did - kayak in the middle of his neighborhood.

A resident of the Amishav neighborhood in the city took advantage of the fact that the rain flooded his area of residence to take out a kayak, and sail it nonchalantly.

In response to the flooding in the neighborhood, the Petah Tikva municipality stated: "After years of neglecting the Amishav neighborhood, in recent years upgrades and renewal of infrastructure costing tens of millions of shekels have been carried out, including on the main arteries. "Their purpose is to prevent flow into the neighborhood. It is possible that a certain factor opened one of the blockages. We will work to renew the blockages that prevent flow into the neighborhood."

Petah Tikva was not the only city that was flooded, as a similar incident took place in the nearby village of Qassem - from there a man and a girl were rescued whose vehicle got stuck on the road by a fire and rescue team.

Similar floods were also recorded in Lod, where it was decided to evacuate a number of houses in the Neve Yarak neighborhood following the rising water level in the area.

Despite the many floods, at least one advantage was recorded in the Sea of Galilee area - where the heavy rains (about 20 mm) led to a five centimeter rise in the level of the Sea of Galilee last weekend. Now the level is 1,835 meters below the upper red line.

At the same time, the cold also led to snowfall in the area of Mount Hermon - when yesterday in the lower part of the mountain about 10 centimeters of snow fell, compared to about 25 centimeters in the upper level.

The site is closed to visitors today and is expected to reopen tomorrow.

As you may recall, the rains are expected to fall today from the north of the country to the Negev, and these will be accompanied by thunderstorms, hail and strong winds.

During the day, there is a fear of flooding in the coastal plain and lowland cities and floods in the Jordan Valley, the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea, the Negev and the Arava.

In the afternoon very cold and dry air will penetrate, and precipitation will decrease.

Also, light snow is possible on the high peaks of the central and northern mountains.

At night the rains will stop, and a widespread cold is expected.

The wind in the Mediterranean will be southwest to northwest between 25 and 42 km / h, and there may be gusts up to 60 km / h.
