The designated Deputy General Secretary of the CDU, Christina Stumpp, is looking for a cheap place to stay in Berlin.

That amuses Kevin Kühnert, who was born in Berlin.

Berlin - The living space in Berlin is scarce - and expensive.

In fact, it is so scarce and expensive that Berliners voted in a referendum in September for the expropriation of large housing groups.

The tense housing situation is now also being felt by CDU politician Christina Stumpp.

In autumn, the Swabian was elected to the Bundestag for the first time and, after her successful engagement as Friedrich Merz's campaign advisor, is even supposed to help with the reorganization of the Union as Deputy Secretary General.

There is no doubt: Stumpp will be spending a lot of time in Berlin in the future.

Apparently she doesn't have a suitable apartment yet, because, as

Business Insider

reports, she recently placed an apartment advertisement on the Bundestag's intranet - with a very optimistic asking price.

CDU Vice Stumpp is looking for an apartment in Berlin: will she be successful with her asking price?

"From now on I'm looking for an apartment in the government district or alternatively within a radius of about 4 kilometers from the Reichstag," writes Stumpp to her colleagues in the Bundestag - and then specifies her ideas: She's looking for around 60 square meters or more.

The cold rent should not exceed 800 euros.

"Thank you very much for the help!" Is she successful with it?

Not surprisingly, Berlin-Mitte is one of the most coveted and expensive districts in the metropolis.

When searching on a popular real estate portal,

Business Insider

found just one offer that was within Stumpp's planned budget: a 1-room apartment with 14 square meters.

As the

Merkur.de

research shows, the designated Deputy General Secretary of the CDU could try the neighboring districts of Moabit and Wedding.

There are at least a handful of offers within the desired 4-kilometer radius.

Apartment request from CDU Vice amused SPD General Secretary Kühnert: "Hold on, Ms. Stumpp!"

SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert also read Stumpp's apartment application.

He shared the corresponding

Business Insider

report on Twitter and wrote: "Hang on, Ms. Stumpp!" Kühnert can't resist a tip in the direction of Union.

"We'll solve that for you soon!" promises the Secretary General, based on a job advertisement - Kühnert is currently looking for a research assistant for housing law issues - and provides his post with a fire brigade and siren emoji.
