Full parking lots, full pistes - at the end of a weekend like this in the district of Miesbach, that also means: full streets.

And that's exactly how it happened.

Schliersee/Tegernsee - After a rather mixed Christmas holiday, the weather and slope conditions in the ski areas in the district of Miesbach were excellent this weekend.

The parking spaces near the lifts at Sudelfeld and Spitzingsee were already full early on, and longer queues formed at the ticket booths again because of the 2G controls.

Well filled: the slopes in the district of Miesbach.

On Sunday it felt like half of Munich was driven to the Miesbach district.

The ski areas were packed to the brim, as can be seen here at the parking lot at Spitzingsee:

And as always on such a sunny day at the weekend, the rush also provoked a huge traffic jam, which (as of 5 p.m.) stretches from both Tegernsee and Schliersee, even via the alternative route Fischbachau in the Leitzachtal to the A8.

Also on the A8 in the direction of Munich, progress is currently only hesitant.

Because: As soon as the sun goes down and the lifts stop running, i.e. around 4.15 p.m., everyone jumps into the car and wants to go home, which is usually in the direction of Munich.

Waiting on the alternative route: queue in the Leitzachtal.

Traffic jam like in the pre-Corona times, a current screenshot from the district of Miesbach on Google Maps.

In the Schlierachtal, in the Leitzachtal, in the Tegernseer Tal and in front of Holzkirchen stop-and-go prevails.

Hardly any escape: on the arterial roads, it builds up on Sunday afternoon (as of 4:30 p.m.).

The 2G rule to be checked also still provokes long queues at the checkout in the morning.

Queuing for the ticket: queue at the Stümpflingbahn valley station.
