He wanted to kill a nurse he believed responsible for a medical error that years ago caused a serious illness to a family member. For a mistake, however, he would have stabbed the wrong person, injuring a 54-year-old farmer from Canosa di Puglia (BAT). The alleged attacker, a 50-year-old from Canosa, is now in prison in Trani in custody on charges of attempted murder. The attack took place yesterday morning. Police investigations, coordinated by the Trani Public Prosecutor's Office, ascertained that the 54-year-old, with a clean record, was approached by the attacker while he was near his garage.

The 50-year-old would suddenly hit him in the chest with a hunting knife after a brief exchange, and then drive away.

Despite the serious injury, the victim managed to reach the Canosa medical center where she received first aid, before being transferred to the hospital, where she is still on a confidential prognosis.

In a few hours the policemen identified the 50-year-old, who after confessing indicated the place where he had hidden the knife used for the attempted murder, found in a campaign owned by him with the blade still stained with blood.

The reconstruction of the facts has therefore made it possible to ascertain that it was a personal error and that the victim has nothing to do with the story reported by the 50-year-old arrested and now detained in prison awaiting validation.
