The Directorate of Agriculture in Daraa implemented the entire plan for wheat and barley crops and exceeded it.
The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Bassam Al-Hashish, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the improvement in rainfall contributed to the implementation of the entire plan. The area planted with irrigated wheat reached 9,400 hectares, exceeding the plan amounting to 9257 hectares by about 143 hectares, and rain-fed wheat 80,000 hectares, which is the complete plan, and about 29,800 hectares with barley, exceeding the plan of 27 A thousand hectares of about 2,800 hectares.
He added that agriculture continues throughout the governorate and that the production requirements of seeds and fertilizers are available and farmers are provided according to the agricultural organization and the need for fertilizers according to the estimates of the relevant agricultural centers.
