The editorial director of Le Parisien - Today in France, Jean-Michel Salvator, presents the measures deployed by our day

Less than three months from the first round, the presidential campaign is well underway despite the Covid.

The subjects that concern the French the most concern purchasing power but also hospitals, schools, security, immigration, ecological transition or pensions.

As with every election, Le Parisien - Today in France is at your side to decipher the issues, compare and evaluate the candidates' proposals, and feed the debate with ideas.

With an extreme right totaling around 35% of voting intentions in the first round, voters have to make a choice in society that has never been so clear-cut since 1981 and the election of François Mitterrand.

We will help them as always, without bias but with openness, tolerance and good faith.

We have planned to deploy an ambitious system on digital and in newspapers.

We have partnered with Ipsos and France Info to carry out opinion polls.

Without abusing it, we considered it useful to reconnect with these studies which make it possible to better understand the balance of power in the electorate.

We also launched a week ago a series of 70 reports entitled “Where is France going? which can be found on our various media. It is a question of taking the pulse of the country, of grasping the daily life of our fellow citizens, of going to meet “exact France”. Without giving in to fads, caricatures or easy polemics.

The political service will cover the adventures of the campaign and behind the scenes. We will interview candidates, but in our own way. For twenty years, we have been organizing “Facing the readers” that political actors appreciate for their frankness and their freedom of tone. The language of wood is prohibited there as Emmanuel Macron demonstrated by expressing his "desire to annoy the non-vaccinated". All the other main candidates will go through this speaking truth exercise. The campaign will gain in clarity and authenticity.

Still with this concern for proximity to you, we are relaunching the “Proposals Lab” on Leparisien.fr.

As with the municipal and regional elections, Internet users are invited to submit their ideas for the country so that the editorial staff can screen them.

We are also going to meet the youngest audiences with formats on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube which are already establishing themselves as major players in the campaign.
