Some motorists must have thought they were James Bond.

The refusal to comply by an individual put the police officers' gearboxes into play this weekend.

A chase between the police and a young biker took place on the A15 motorway around 11:30 a.m. this Sunday, January 16.

During the intervention, a police officer was evacuated in "relative emergency" after falling from his motorcycle in the sector of the town of Montigny-lès-Cormeilles (Val-d'Oise).

The fleeing biker, also slightly injured, ended up being arrested.

According to the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) 95, the 28-year-old motorcyclist, originally from Argenteuil, was riding a TMax brand scooter, a model with a large engine, on the A15 motorway in the direction Cergy-Paris.

Following a traffic violation, two police officers ask him to stop.

Without success.

The latter then begin to pursue him on a motorcycle.

Also according to the DDSP, the man on the run then tried several times to bring down the police using dangerous maneuvers on the road.

He ends up succeeding.

One of the officials falls to the ground.

Slightly injured, he was evacuated to Pontoise hospital.

A cap created voluntarily by the police

Little by little, all the police officers in the sector are mobilized. They decide to create a traffic jam on the A15 in order to stop the fleeing biker. "The objective was to facilitate his arrest and avoid further damage among motorists," said the DDSP. The trap works. The young man from Argenteuil finds himself stuck in traffic and also ends up falling. He was then evacuated in “relative emergency” to the Argenteuil hospital center.

Arrested, he was taken into custody.

“He will spend the night there”, specifies the DDSP.

The police officer injured during the intervention filed a complaint.

An investigation was opened for "endangering the lives of others", "refusal to comply" and "willful violence against a person holding public authority with a weapon by destination".

The icing on the cake, the young man did not have his driver's license either.

This is not the first time that a chase has occurred on the A15.

In January 2020, a man ran into two police officers who wanted to arrest him.

The latter had narrowly avoided his car which could have crushed them.

During the intervention, the police officers had even used their firearms to stop the fugitive.

Despite everything, the latter had continued his mad race.
