With Dean Simon Rapp, the world church is at home in Herrsching.
Since 2017 he has been training students of the Steyler Missionaries in St. Augustin near Bonn in the Ammersee-Ost parish community.
In 2017 it was pastoral intern Pius Gregory Oduro Owusu, in 2019 Johannes Wangqi Li, and since November Deacon Edwin Arockiam from India has been in Herrsching for 14 months.
Herrsching
– The 32-year-old feels warmly welcomed.
This may also be due to the fact that he speaks German so well.
So good that Rapp let him conduct his first funeral interview alone.
Edwin Arockiam has been in Germany since 2015.
On June 12, he will be ordained a priest, so that the members of the parish community can probably look forward to one or two Eucharistic celebrations with the young, empathetic priest.
They practice diligently, because it's not that easy to hold a prayer book, holy water brush and censer in your hands all at once at a funeral, he knows that from personal experience, says Rapp.
