Papers from the documents of Sayyah Qassem Al-Nabwani, one of the men of the Great Syrian Revolution, included in a documentary exhibition that dealt with aspects related to the role of the fighter against the French occupation, the revolutionaries' struggle inside and outside the country, and the political and social life during that era.

The exhibition, which was hosted by the culturalist Abu Rummaneh, included various documents collected and prepared by researcher Kamal Al-Khoufi, some of which date back 120 years and distributed among manuscripts, statements, books from the Great Syrian Revolution and documents of the struggle of the Mujahideen outside Syria.

The exhibition also highlights documents belonging to the National Bloc and others related to the life of Nabwani, including letters from the Mujahid Sultan Pasha al-Atrash in his own handwriting.

The exhibition was followed by a historical symposium on Al-Nabwani’s memoirs, in which the researcher Al-Choufi participated, who explained in his intervention that the exhibition was distinguished by its rare documents that chronicle an important part of Syria’s contemporary history, in addition to some documents that were kept by the Al-Nabwani family.

Al-Khoufi spoke about the importance of publishing such documents, considering that they bring back to memory the history and struggles of the heroic men of Syria, in addition to being an important source for researchers and historians about the period of the French occupation and showing the Syrian people’s confrontation with it and their adherence to their unity.

As for the researcher, Dr. Fendi Abu Fakhr, he spoke in his intervention about the memories of the Nabwani fighter and the importance of the documents he left as a reference on the social, economic, political and war history of the Great Syrian Revolution and the difficult conditions that the revolutionaries were exposed to, considering these documents a national, national and human identity.

Abu Fakhr compared the memoirs of historical figures with the memoirs of al-Nabwani, which he saw as different from others as documenting economic, human, daily and private life, dividing his memoirs into several stages from the Great Syrian Revolution to exile and returning to the homeland through the Nabek desert, referring to his life inside it up to the stage of independence.

The daughter of the fighter, the plastic artist Afaf Sayah al-Nabwani, in a statement to SANA, pointed out her pride in her father’s history, which built with the great men of the modern history of Syria, indicating that they, as a family, preserved these documents, which they consider part of his large and great library, as not a day passed without him writing his diaries, as well as His extensive reading.

It is noteworthy that the mujahid Sayah al-Nabwani, born in Suwayda, the village of Umm Rumman in 1906, participated in the battles of the Syrian revolution when he was twenty years old. Arabic and Greater Syria continued to be prepared after his son Youssef's departure, entitled (From Al-Saffah to Al-Jalaa.. Memoirs and Documents of Sayah Al-Nabwani).
