The Parisian
.
The first victim was discovered Friday morning January 14 by a passerby, while his body was floating with a suitcase.
Rescued in cardiorespiratory arrest, she could not be resuscitated by the emergency services.
A large rescue system, made up of firefighters and police officers, had been deployed on the spot and the river traffic interrupted, according to our colleagues.

The suitcase collected near the victim's body contained identity papers which made it possible to identify him, as well as personal effects.
It also contained a handrail statement filed at the Chennevières-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) police station, referring to domestic violence.
Criminal leads dismissed
The criminal trail was finally ruled out after an external examination of the body.
“
The video surveillance images that were viewed showed a woman strolling alone near the canal
,” said a source familiar with the matter at Le
Parisien
.
Mother of four children, the victim was coming out of a stay in psychiatry.
The body of the second woman was also discovered by a witness, Saturday morning January 15, in the Ourcq canal, which extends the Saint-Martin canal.
He was rescued by the men of the river brigade, who failed to resuscitate her.
Here too, the criminal track seems to have been dismissed, according to our colleagues.
For good reason, her body showed no trace of violence and a general call on all the police waves had been broadcast before, for the disappearance of a woman, after the report of her husband.
The victim suffered from severe depression and anxiety attacks, suggesting suicide.
An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of death.
