A bank branch in Poing (Ebersberg district) was the scene of a large-scale police operation on Sunday morning with curious results.
Poing
– An abandoned suitcase in the middle of the Poinger savings bank branch on Sunday looked so suspicious to passers-by and the police that the special department of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office was called to Poing in the morning.
Because the suitcase was in the middle of the room, it was considered unlikely that the suitcase would simply be forgotten, according to the police in their statement.
Officers from the technical task force arrived, the area around the savings bank was cordoned off and it was ensured that nobody was in the building.
Abandoned suitcase in Poing: X-ray machine reveals the contents: an eraser
An officer with protective equipment examined the abandoned suitcase with an X-ray machine, among other things.
The all-clear was given: the ominous suitcase was empty, apart from a lone eraser.
He was removed from the building;
the operation ended after two hours of closure.
Another use of explosives: Panzerfaust found near Markt Schwaben
Incidentally, it was not the only use of explosives by the Poing police this weekend: According to the officials, a pedestrian found a rocket launcher, model "Rocket" from the Second World War, on the municipal boundary between Pliening and Markt Schwaben.
Therefore, the explosives command of the Free State of Bavaria moved on Saturday: The Panzerfaust had to be blown up on site in a field.
There were no barriers because the explosion was small.
There were no damages.
