Damascus, SANA- The governorate of Damascus and the General Authority for Remote Sensing today signed a memorandum on scientific, technical and technical cooperation

Damascus Governorate and the General Authority for Remote Sensing today signed a memorandum on scientific and technical cooperation and benefiting from the human expertise and competencies of the two sides.

According to the memorandum signed at the governorate building, joint applied projects are being implemented in the governorate using available technologies, remote sensing tools and tributary systems, especially aerial photography and laser scanning projects using unmanned unmanned flights, and benefiting from its three-dimensional digital outputs in the areas of digital urban management and urban planning.

The memorandum provides for the support and development of spatial databases in the governorate using methodologies and models developed by the authority, and it organizes a series of training courses for technical cadres in the governorate in the areas of information technology, geographic information systems and satellite image applications in urban areas.

The memorandum aims to exchange experts and specialists and participate in seminars and workshops held by the two parties to acquire and develop knowledge, provide consultations, localize technology, facilitate the use of equipment, technologies and laboratory contents, and obtain data from satellite images, maps, charts and available scientific documents.

The Governor of Damascus, Eng. Adel Al-Olabi, indicated in a statement to SANA after signing the memorandum its importance in strengthening the partnership in the sectors of scientific and technical activity to implement development projects and studies of common interest to reach digital purpose products that contribute to supporting comprehensive development and in line with the tasks of both parties.

In turn, the Director-General of the General Authority for Remote Sensing, Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Kafri, pointed out that the memorandum contributes to activating participatory work and employing the capabilities of remote sensing and its tributary systems and their interaction with the work and activities of the province to benefit from practical and technical technology.
