Servants of Chaos: Government Declines to the Abyss of Omicron, and Experts Do Not Raise a Red Flag
The messages that have been heard in recent weeks, such as "there is nothing to do about the tsunami of infection," are nothing more than a reverberation of lies, designed to ease the government.
Thus, on its way to knowing mass infection, Israel has lost an important thing - the citizens who do not understand the policy

How many times have you heard the words "take care that there is nothing to do in the face of the massive contagion of the omicron strain" or "all countries are dealing with contagion tsunamis and restrictions are not helping"? Well, this is a completely false message echoing, designed to make it easier for the government not to impose crowd restrictions and as a result not to pay compensation as a result of this policy. The worst thing is that senior Health Ministry officials, doctors who have vowed to protect public health, are aligning and pumping this message to the public, even though they repeatedly tell ministers and the prime minister that the disease can be moderated and restrictions should be imposed.
In interviews with Health Ministry Director General Nachman Ash, Projector Salman Zarqa or Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price, they say the government has additional considerations and that at this stage "extreme measures will be needed to reduce the morbidity."
It is important to say that in no wave the purpose of the restrictions was not to reduce the morbidity to zero, but to reduce and moderate it - and they are able to do so in front of the omicron, even if less effectively.
Another and more important thing - at the stage of an uncontrolled outbreak it will surely be much harder to minimize damage, the question is why were no restrictions imposed three weeks ago that could have helped us not get there ?.

Many countries have imposed restrictions. China is trying to reach a zero-infection policy with the help of inhuman and unsuccessful closures. But in more democracies they have taken less draconian steps and their results do not cause too much optimism, but at least they have not reached our situation. When Prime Minister Naftali Bennett talks to the directors of the pediatric wards and asks them to prepare for the flood of patients without explaining to them how they should prepare, and when he does not give them an extra shekel for special or unusual preparations.
Another poor excuse is "the public is tired of restrictions". This is also a message that needs to be looked at. The older Israeli public went in droves to get vaccinated for the fourth time, despite doubts being heard about its effectiveness, because it has broad confidence in the health system and the Ministry of Health. And what about the young? They still stand in line for tests for four hours to listen to instructions as a sorter. In what other field will you find the Israelis so disciplined? It seems that the government is more comfortable blaming the public than acting in its favor.

In the cabinet, the experts repeatedly said that senior officials from the Ministry of Health should limit gatherings and switch to hybrid learning for a short period, but this did not even come up for an in-depth discussion in the cabinet.
Cabinet ministers should continue to adhere to their position, but how do professionals remain silent and not raise a red flag?
Why do they continue with the line that deceives the public that the restrictions will not help at this point, when they know it is not true.
I would expect people with public health in their throats, to warn at the gate about any injustice done by the government and not to cooperate with it.
Israel is knowingly on the road to mass infection, although this is already clear, although Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and a senior official in his ministry insist that this is not the case.
The omicron strain is probably less deadly, but it is important to talk about the day after.
Israel has lost the ability to control the number of its patients or verified, there is no interest in continuing with the green mark and the day after it will no longer be relevant.
But Israel has lost something much more important - the Israelis who do not understand the policy.
A day will come, not much longer, with a new strain, which can be more contagious and more deadly and then we will not be able to impose restrictions, even if the whole government agrees to it.
