The new poetic collection (Like a Cloud) by the poetess Amal Al-Manawer was limited to the balanced poem that was dominated by the two parts and commitment to the language and focused on patriotic and social themes and longing for the poet’s hometown of Deir ez-Zor.

In the group, the Bride of the Euphrates appears mainly in many texts that reflect her roots in this land and the extent of her loyalty to it through a style based on intensifying passion and music, as in the poem (The Heartbeat) “Deir ez-Zor has my longings without limits and horizons.. Deir ez-Zor is the heartbeat of Deir ez-Zor my eyes.”

The poet’s passion travels with her, where we find her talking about Damascus with the same intimacy that we find in her previous texts to express emotional states that she lived through with her conversations with companions, comrades and friends, through fragments of the seas of poetry, such as her saying: “The Levant is stuck in my heart… it does not leave its pulse and blood.”

Not all poems (like a cloud) are sentimental and sentimental. She writes about Damascus as a national symbol, a catalyst for struggle, and a haven for life. She chose the simple sea and the gentle narration, so that the flow of feelings would come in an intense hierarchical system.

The poet returns to her childhood memories that she lived on the banks of the Euphrates. She recalls the beauty, trees, happy life, its transformations, innocence, and its impact. She says: “Oh, you who covered the Euphrates with a pillow, so it became a wall for it and became a bed.

The 102-page collection is issued by Totol for printing, publishing and distribution, and it is the third publication of Al-Manawwar after (This is how the Euphrates sang) and (Do not care about passers-by).
