The weather for January 17: a cold and mostly cloudy Monday

This Monday, the weather will remain gray and cold in a majority of France, even if a blue sky is expected on the shores of the Mediterranean.


Monday, the clouds will remain in the majority over a good part of the country, with fog expected over the western and central western regions, announces La Chaîne Météo*.

A few pockets of thinning will emerge between Hauts-de-France and part of Normandy.

There will be sunshine in the morning on the shores of the Mediterranean, thanks to the wind which will be blowing hard: up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The sun is also expected at altitude, on the Massif Central, the Pyrenees and the Alps.

It will be 5°C in Montpellier, Marseille, as well as in Cherbourg, 4 in Paris and 3 in La Rochelle.

In the afternoon, the disturbance will continue its path from the North towards the center, marked by a few cloudy periods and mostly overcast skies.

The South-West will experience beautiful clearings and a pretty blue sky will be expected in the Mediterranean, with 12 in Marseille and Ajaccio, against 8 for Cherbourg and Lille.

The atmosphere will be similar on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a lot of gray weather and humidity.

The conditions will remain anticyclonic in France, which means that the disturbances take time to dissipate.

From Wednesday, freezing fog will be expected in the valleys of the Garonne.

In the south of France, the mistral and the tramontane will fade.
