The Silka Seaview Hotel, Yau Ma Tei, which is used for quarantine and isolation of overseas arrivals, is suspected of cross-infection!
Officers of the Department of Health visited the site today (16th) afternoon together with Professor Yuan Guoyong of Microbiology of the University of Hong Kong. After a smoke test, it was found that the ventilation in the room was insufficient, and it was suspected that the virus was blown to the adjacent room through the corridor, causing cross-infection.
Since there are adjacent rooms on the 4th and 12th floors, respectively, cross-infection has occurred, so it is recommended that the residents of the adjacent rooms should re-quarantine for an additional 14 days.
Another confirmed case is suspected at Silka Seaview Hotel in Yau Ma Tei.
