”, declared Valérie Pécresse, Monday January 17 on Europe 1. The candidate LR in the presidential election strongly opposed this new graphics, wanted to be more inclusive.

It consists of adding midpoints between the masculine and the feminine so as not to exclude anyone.

For example, we would no longer write “

the candidates for the Élysée

”, the masculine prevailing over the feminine, but “

the candidates

” for the Élysée.
