“Screenshot” N°48: Wordle, a game worthy of attention

I am happy to have you back (1) for a new edition of “Screenshots”.

Do you know Wordle?

This little game has met with phenomenal success (2) on the web.

Every day, two to three million people try to guess the same five-letter word in six attempts.

For each proposition, the letters are colored (3) green when they appear in the right position in the word, orange when they are in the wrong place and gray when they are absent.

(4) The concept is reminiscent of the (5) game show Motus from France 2, itself adapted from a Dutch program, Lingo.

I discovered Wordle, like many others, when I saw small colorful and cabalistic grids appear on Twitter, which allow you to share your score on social networks without revealing the word of the day.

The enthusiasm is certain.

(6) There are already copies of Wordle in French (Le Mot, Sutom), as well as mobile applications, which Apple tried to drive out of its store…
