"Destructive phenomenon that harms nature and the well-being of the residents":

About 190 trucks that carried waste illegally were seized this year by the David unit, led by the KMT unit in the Civil Administration, as part of the Civil Administration's effort to eradicate waste dumping throughout Judea and Samaria.

These are trucks that transport waste from construction sites in Israel to the territories of Judea and Samaria, where it is dumped and burned illegally.

The David unit was established in 2014, and since its inception to date, over 1,500 trucks carrying illegal waste have been seized.

Unit inspectors work to catch the trucks in real time, upon arrival at the crossing.

In addition, the unit, in cooperation with the Israel Police and the Jerusalem Municipality, this year handled 572 inquiries regarding boycotts and waste permits in the territories of Judea and Samaria.

About 30 police complaints were filed about waste offenses, but only 10% matured into an indictment.

The most boycotts were at the Rantis crossing (29) which is 16%, then Qalandiya (25) which is 12.5% and in general the boycotts in the Jerusalem and Bethlehem envelope constitute 50% of all boycotts in Judea and Samaria.

The Environment Chief of Staff, Bnei Elbaz, said: "The phenomenon of dumping waste throughout Judea and Samaria is a destructive phenomenon, which harms nature and the well-being of the residents.

The Civil Administration is doing everything in its power to combat the phenomenon, and we will do everything we can to ensure that the criminals who carry out destructive activities in our environment receive their punishment.

This year, too, we will continue to work tirelessly to eradicate the phenomenon, and we will continue to work in full cooperation with the relevant authorities to enforce crime. "
