Syrian Art is the title of the book recently issued by the critic and plastic artist Talal Mualla, in both English and German, and deals with the course of plastic art in Syria since the fifties of the last century until today.
The book, which was issued by the Takla Cultural Foundation in Germany, was said by Shaukat Takla, the director of the foundation, in a statement to SANA: This publication comes with the aim of contributing to the definition of modern Syrian art and Syrian artists in Europe, where the critic and artist Maalla followed the basic lines of the development of contemporary plastic art in Syria during More than seventy years with attached drawings and illustrations.
Takla explained that the activities carried out by the Foundation aim to promote contemporary Syrian art by launching an art competition last year, in addition to establishing the Museum of Contemporary Syrian Art in Bremen, Germany.
