At 6:46 a.m. today (17th), the security guard of the University of Hong Kong saw a man hang himself with a tie in a room in Liang Qiuju Building, and immediately called the police for help.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to relieve the victim, but unfortunately the 48-year-old man surnamed Shi was confirmed dead on the spot.
It is understood that the victim was a staff member of the University of Hong Kong, who was unhappy due to work problems.
The police seized a suicide note at the scene and sealed off the scene for investigation. The cause of death is to be determined after an autopsy.
