China today successfully launched a new satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province.
China's Xinhua News Agency reported that the Xi'an-13 satellite was launched aboard a Long-range (March-2D) rocket and entered the planned orbit successfully.
This launch marks the 406th mission of the Long March series of missiles.
