The area planted with irrigated wheat in Homs governorate for the current season has reached 11,792 hectares, with an implementation rate of 97 percent, and rainfed cultivation is 19,349 hectares, with an implementation rate of 80 percent.

The Director of Homs Agriculture, Engineer Younis Hamdan, said in a statement to SANA reporter that 33,600 hectares of rainfed barley and 542 hectares of irrigated barley have been planted, indicating that the cultivation operations are continuing to implement the entire agricultural plan for the current season.

He pointed out that 520 hectares were planted with irrigated fava beans, 586 hectares with irrigated lentils, 343 hectares with irrigated peas, 10 hectares with irrigated cumin, 764 hectares with irrigated anise, and 383 hectares with irrigated coriander.

And he indicated that the planting of spring potatoes has started in the Al-Rastan area and the western center, and the cultivated area has reached 58 hectares out of the total plan of 1661 hectares.
