The Damascus Countryside Agriculture Directorate distributed 280 grants (assistance to secure tools and work supplies) to farmers, small producers and livestock breeders to support the residents of a number of affected areas.
The grants distributed in cooperation between the Damascus Countryside Governorate and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) included 140 agricultural grants in the regions of Harran Al-Awamid, Eastern Ghouta and Al-Nabk, and another 140 grants to breeders in the regions of Harran Al-Awamid, Al-Maliha, Al-Jarajir, Al-Sahl and Al-Qust.
The Director of Agriculture in Damascus Countryside, Engineer Irfan Ziadeh, explained to SANA reporter that the agricultural grant targeted small producers and vegetable farmers and included seeds and fertilizers to support the areas that were subjected to terrorism, while the breeders’ grant included 140 beneficiaries, which included distributing ewes and fodder to help them improve their work related to agricultural work or animal husbandry.
