From morning to night: day trippers in the Tölzer mountains

Full parking lots, full cross-country trails, full pistes - and then also full streets in the evening: This is the list of excursions of the weekend in the Tölzer Land.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- After a rather mixed Christmas holiday, the weather conditions were excellent over the past few days - also on the Brauneck.

"It was a very good weekend," says Peter Lorenz, head of the Brauneck cable car.

"Except for the ideal slope, we had all the slopes open." Despite the many winter sports enthusiasts, the parking spaces were sufficient.

"Only in the morning there were long queues at the tills because the 2G controls take a while," says Lorenz.

Last but not least, he suspects, there has been an increase in day trippers in the region since Austria was declared a risk area.

In addition to numerous skiers, according to Maria Bader, head of the Lenggries Tourist Info, there were also many hikers in the Isarwinkel. "The parking spaces were all occupied, but fortunately there was no chaotic situation, as we have had on some good weekends," she says. For cross-country skiers, on the other hand, Lenggries was not an attractive destination. "Because so far only the small trail at the valley station has been groomed (we reported), only a few came to us," explains Bader. Quite different in Jachenau: "Most of the parking spaces were full from 8 a.m.," says Mayor Klaus Rauchenberger on request. “Although there were a few hikers, the majority were cross-country skiers,” he says. No wonder: "More than two-thirds of the route is currently in perfect condition - whether for classic cross-country skiing or skating," says the mayor.“Only at the top of the valley was it a bit lean. But that doesn’t bother you, because the trail from Leger to Niggeln is simply great.”

Big rush on cross-country ski trails in Jachenau

"We open at 9 a.m., from that point on it was very busy," says the boss of the Blombergbahn, Hannes Zintel.

All offers on the Tölz local mountain were equally well received.

"But you notice one thing: everyone is hot for tobogganing," says Zintel.

What he is particularly pleased about is that the new toboggan lift at the Blomberghaus has been very well received by visitors for the second weekend in a row.

"It's supposed to be something for the whole family.

While the children are sledging there, the parents can walk to the Heiglkopf, for example,” says Zintel.

"And just as we had planned, it was implemented at the weekend." There was also a lot going on in the evening.

“The night tobogganing also went really well.

We had a full house until 10 p.m..”

The many guests made themselves felt on the streets later in the afternoon.

"But that's normal, and we hardly feel the return traffic directly in the Jachenau," said Rauchenberger.

Bader confirms that the streets towards Munich were full from the early evening.

However, Rauhenberger is pleased with the behavior of the excursionists: "Everything was fine.

I would not have heard of any conflict or wrongdoing.”
