SPD, Greens and FDP want to be a coalition of progress. We take them at their word: In the SPIEGEL traffic light radar, you can check how the government is progressing with its plans, where there are problems - and where they are failing.

The fight against the corona pandemic and against climate change are the two mega-topics of the new federal government.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his team will have to be measured against how successful they are in these fields over the next four years.

In addition, the coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP has undertaken hundreds of other projects, laws and reforms.

The coalition agreement alone has 177 pages.

It's about the modernization of society, housing construction or ideas for the future of the European Union.

In the end, it is clear that such a coalition agreement only marks the starting point of a government.

In the coming months and years, many projects will be added that may not yet be foreseeable.

That was always the case for the previous governments, especially in the past few years, which were full of crises.

We want to use the SPIEGEL traffic light radar to track key government projects over the next four years, keep track of them and document the current status of implementation.

To start with, we evaluated the coalition agreement, but we will expand the list of traffic light projects in the course of the legislature.

Many projects are only vaguely formulated in the coalition agreement, and not all are included in the traffic light radar.

The selection is limited to the most important projects.

In the following list you can study the plans of the SPD, Greens and FDP in detail according to topic and implementation status.
