Preparations around the country with the arrival of the most wintry winter this season:

At the same time, the fire and rescue system noted that in the coming days a cold wave and low temperatures accompanied by control and snow are expected and noted that last winter many fires broke out as a result of unsafe use in the middle of heating.

As of today and tomorrow no snow or rain is expected but on Wednesday, with the entry of clouds in the high peaks of the Galilee and Golan Heights, over 800 meters, only light snow is expected that is not expected to pile up (currently).

The Hermon site was open with 10 cm of snow on the lower level, and 25 cm on the upper level and apparently more snow is expected during the week.

The fire department asked the public to adhere to guidelines and proper use for safe heating.

The heater should be turned off while leaving the room.

Jerusalem is preparing for a cold

Due to the expected cold, the municipality advised residents to avoid actions that pose a safety hazard and to maintain vigilance and caution when driving and on foot on the roads.

Residents of the capital are advised to check the integrity of the heating systems and especially those that require ventilation.

It is also recommended to open the hot water tap slightly to prevent water from freezing in the solar water heater pipes, which causes them to crack.

The municipal emergency headquarters in the capital, led by the municipality's emergency and security department, has completed its deployment.

The Jerusalem Municipality will provide a solution to the treatment of hazards and floods and will operate a system for dispersing salt in the main arteries.

Employees of the operations manager in the Jerusalem municipality are prepared to disperse salt.

The 106 hotline will be intensified at the night shift hotlines.

The Welfare Department will hold preliminary tours to locate and treat street children and offer them to evacuate to shelters.

Those who refuse will receive blankets, hot drinks and warm clothing from social workers.

Record power consumption

Noga - Management of the Electricity System, stated that yesterday an all-time winter record was set in electricity consumption - 13,368 megawatts.

The previous peak in the winter period was in 2020, when a peak consumption of about 13,182 megawatts was measured.

The reserve at peak time was 856 megawatts.
