The municipality of Pöcking gets a corona test station.

The social service Pöcking has tried to get an approval.

Those responsible are pleased that they will be able to offer quick tests for the Pöckinger from next week.

Pöcking

- A quick test is quickly needed - for a visit to the swimming pool, for a concert, for the gym or for club sports. The 5500 people from Pöcking, who also like to use their indoor pool, have had to go to Starnberg or Tutzing for quick tests. That's over now: From next Monday, January 24th, there will be the opportunity to take an official and free corona quick test at the social center in Pöcking.

The test center is behind the far right entrance of the welfare center on Ahornweg. The opening times are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., suitable for early swimmers, and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, the test station in the social center is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. "We can still change these opening times," says Deputy Mayor Albert Luppart. "Now let's see how the demand is," he explains. Luppart is pleased that social services took the initiative and applied to the district office for the test before Christmas.

"With a decision of December 30th - delivered on January 5th - we received the permit," said district manager Sandra Marsch from the social center.

"We are really proud that we received the authorization in such a short time and can therefore enable the citizens of Pöcking to take local tests free of charge." She also emphasizes that the opening hours can be adjusted after a test run.

This offer is very important, especially for older citizens in Pöcking.

Ingrid Köglmeier (80), who likes to go swimming, had spoken to the Starnberger Merkur of an "imposition for older people" that they had to drive to the larger neighboring towns to test.

This argument was one of the reasons why the social center tried to get the test site, says Luppart when asked.

The tests are free for all citizens.

The social center receives a fee for each test from the state.

According to Luppart, however, this does not cover the actual effort.

"Without volunteers, we couldn't do what we do," he says.
