An absolute corona miracle is emerging on the RKI map, a Berlin district has not reported a single case for a week.

But behind it is rather a curious technical glitch.

Berlin – The corona numbers in Germany continue to rise, and on Monday the RKI again reported an absolute high.

While the incidence is increasing nationwide, Berlin, along with Bremen, is developing into an absolute problem child at the top of the federal states.

But only one district in the capital seems to be in the green.

As the media are now reporting, this should have a curious background.

RKI map shows: Berlin district with zero incidence - the health department can only receive cases by fax

The corona numbers in Germany have risen again, and the RKI once again reports a maximum incidence value of over 500. The institute gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 528.2. The hotspots among the federal states lead Bremen with an incidence of 1389.3 and Berlin with a value of 947.7. While the RKI for Berlin reports 34,726 new cases in the past seven days, one district does not seem to be affected by Corona at all.

A white spot can be seen on the RKI map near the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.

The district has reported an incredible zero cases in the past seven days.

However, as the

BZ

reports, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district is anything but a current corona miracle.

Rather, the technology distorts the transmission to the Robert Koch Institute.

The district office has not been able to report any cases to the RKI since January 10th.

A technical glitch is said to be to blame, the district office's database was initially full.

It was therefore impossible to enter new corona cases, as reported by the

Morgenpost

.

That problem went away last Thursday.

Berlin: district office with another breakdown - Corona cases can only be counted by fax

But now there is already the next problem, as the

BZ

reports.

As the newspaper quotes the district mayor Gordon Lemm, it is now being considered how at least approximate numbers can be reported, because: "Currently we can only report the corona numbers that reach us by fax".

Experts are said to have been working feverishly since Monday morning to fix the technical glitch.

Could omicron mean the end of the pandemic, yes or no?

The Munich virologist Klaus Stöhr apparently has a different opinion on the issue than Health Minister Karl Lauterbach.
