About two months after the arrival of the Omicron strain in Israel, it seems that the fears of a real harm to the health system's ability to function may materialize.

Today is the second day in a row that the Ministry of Health has not uploaded the morbidity data to the control panel website in time due to technical problems in verifying the data.

In addition, since the morning hours, the Voice of Health Center has ceased to function, after collapsing due to a flood of inquiries, and there is no human response.

The pressure on hospitals is mounting, while many medical staffs are in isolation due to Corona infection.

At Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, it was decided to open another maternity ward for the critical weeks, at the expense of a child psychiatric ward, due to the heavy workload.

The hospital said that the eight boys and girls treated in the ward will continue to receive a full response, some will be left in full hospitalization in an adapted ward in the hospital and those who do not need full hospitalization will be transferred to a day care setting.

A director of a hospital in the center of the country told Walla !: "The prime minister asks us to prepare for a flood of patients, but does not give us additional budget or manpower to do so. How does he want us to prepare for a big event if he does not provide us with the resources? "Limited, the loads are also large due to winter illness and it is likely that the peak of the wave is still ahead of us."

The pressures do not miss the community either.

In a conversation between the director general of the Ministry of Health, Nachman Ash, and the directors of the health funds that took place last night, the directors warned that they did not meet the testing load, and asked him to change the policy so that it would only be offered to people aged 60 and over. Will be inspected at the checkpoints of the Home Front Command and MDA.

Ash replied that he would consider their request.

A decision on this matter has not yet been made.
