On the occasion of her Golden Jubilee, the queen has participated in several acts supported by her children, Princes Federico and Joaquín, and their respective wives.

Margaret of Denmark has served half a century as sovereign of the Scandinavian country.

To celebrate, last Friday the queen gathered her family in different commemorative events that, complying with the measures derived from the current epidemiological situation, were of an intimate nature.

A celebration far removed from the one he organized a decade ago when he celebrated his 40 years of reign with a grand gala party and a mass bath riding in a carriage through the streets of Copenhagen.

On this occasion, dressed in a blue dress combined with a jacket and her iconic hair tied back, the queen began the day by attending a meeting with the Council of State, together with her son, Crown Prince Federico, as she did in 1972. before being proclaimed queen. After this act, accompanied by the rest of the family, she went to Parliament and then ended the event by visiting the tomb of her parents, King Frederick IX and Queen Ingrid. The great absence on such an important date was that of her younger sister, Ana María, who was unable to travel to her native country due to the coronavirus infection of her husband, King Constantine of Greece. He was also unable to count on the presence of his eight grandchildren, who are focused on their school obligations.

The first to arrive at Christiansborg Castle was her other sister, Princess Benedicta, who chose a purple coat for the occasion, and then the queen's two sons, accompanied by their wives, made an appearance. Princess Mary, wife of the heir to the throne, opted for beige from head to toe, choosing a cape by the Uruguayan designer Gabriela Hearst and completing her style with a cap-type headdress by Jane Taylor, which she had already worn on other occasions, and some salons from prada. His sister-in-law, Princess Marie, with whom he bears a certain physical resemblance, preferred to put a note of color with a mint green dressing gown coat signed by Max Mara. As accessories, she also opted for a headdress, a Bottega Veneta bag and Jimmy Choo shoes.

opted for the calm of a blue ensemble, which she completed with a coat and gray headdress.

The most special of her styling, without a doubt, were the jewels.

On the lapel of the jacket could be seen a brooch that his mother gave him.

It is a spectacular piece of 238 diamonds that has great sentimental value for the sovereign, since it was a piece that Queen Ingrid wore on her wedding day and was made in memory of her grandmother, Queen Margaret.

On her chest she wore another horseshoe-shaped brooch that is also loaded with meaning and was a gift from her father, Frederick IX, the day she was proclaimed heir to the throne.

With this choice, the queen wanted to keep her parents very present on such an important date.

The most emotional act of the day was the visit to Roskilde Cathedral, a city that was the Danish capital between the 11th and 15th centuries, and where the tombs of Frederick IX and Queen Ingrid are located. In the temple, declared a World Heritage Site in 1995, 20 kings and 17 queens rest, but only the remains of Margarita's parents are outside. Some curious people came to the place to witness how the royal family made them a floral offering. Queen Margaret laid a crown of flowers in shades of blue and her sister, Princess Benedict, chose a pink one. They also left a third, yellow, in the name of their other sister, Ana María, and the crown princes, Joaquín and Marie of Denmark, placed laurel wreaths.

In the snapshots, the entire family wears a commemorative medal for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in which the monarch can be seen surrounded by the three lions that guard the entrance to Rosenborg Castle. The back is engraved with the Queen's monogram along with the Order of the Dannebrog and the Order of the Elephant, as well as the dates of her half-century reign: January 14, 1972- January 14, 2022. Precisely on the 14th of In January 50 years ago, just two weeks after the death of her father, King Frederick IX, Margaret was proclaimed queen before a crowd cheering her name. To achieve this, her father had had to deal with a good constitutional racket and almost six years of legal battle that allowed her to reign despite being a woman. She, as she has stated more than once,he understands the position as a public service that will last until his death.
