In the northeast, many people have again protested against what they consider to be too strict corona measures and a possible vaccination requirement.
Things did not remain peaceful in Rostock and Grimmen.
Schwerin/Rostock/Neubrandenburg/Greifswald - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, thousands of people demonstrated again against corona restrictions and compulsory vaccination.
On Monday evening, however, the number of participants was around 11,000, well below the previous weeks, according to police spokesman estimates.
Clashes broke out in Rostock, where more than 2,000 people came to protest, and at a group of unregistered demonstrators in Grimmen (West Pomerania-Rügen), where a policewoman was injured.
A week ago, around 15,000 participants were counted in the MV protests against the Corona policy.

The police counted the largest peaceful demonstrations in Schwerin with 2,400 participants, followed by Neubrandenburg (1,800), Wismar (700) and Neustrelitz and Greifswald, each with 500 demonstrators. In Neubrandenburg, posters read "Measures destroy livelihoods". All in all, there were protests again in more than 25 cities, including Güstrow, Bergen, Pasewalk, Parchim and Penkun.
In Rostock there were problems with folders. As a result, the leader of the meeting dissolved the event against corona measures, also because the mask requirement was violated. According to observers, the mood among the demonstrators was heated, and firecrackers were also set off. The demonstrators were surrounded. Water cannons were also ready. About a dozen troublemakers were provisionally arrested by police officers. Parents with children were first asked to leave the meeting. After three hours, the situation had largely calmed down.
There were smaller counter-events in Rostock, Greifswald, Neubrandenburg, Anklam and Schwerin.
Citizens placed more than 1,500 candles on the Greifswald market to commemorate the corona dead in the north-east.
"We want to show that Corona is a reality," said Michael Steiger from the "Greifswald for All" alliance.
The seven-day incidence of new corona infections on Monday in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was 471 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.
