Marlon Bundo, rabbit star of the Pence family's children's books, is dead, announced one of the daughters of the former vice president of the United States on social networks.

Rest in sweet peace, little bunny
," Charlotte Pence Bond wrote on her Twitter account over the weekend, in tribute to Marlon Bundo, who became the subject of three children's books published between 2018 and 2019, and written by the daughter of Mike Pence, then Vice President under Donald Trump.
The rabbit had also become the subject of a children's book written by satirical television host John Oliver.
The comedian wanted to denounce what he considered to be the homophobia of Mike Pence.
At the time of his arrival in Washington in 2017, Marlon Bundo, white and black rabbit, had acquired a small notoriety, in particular thanks to his own Instagram account, strong Monday of more than 32,000 subscribers.
A superstar in the United States
But it was with the 2018 publication of A

in the Life of the Vice President
that
he became a superstar in the United States. The children's book, written by Mike Pence's eldest daughter and illustrated by his wife Karen, evokes a day of the vice president as seen by his rabbit.
Taking advantage of the publication of the book, British comedian John Oliver devoted one of his shows on the cable channel HBO to Mike Pence, highlighting in particular his hostility to gay marriage.
Prior to his arrival at the White House with Donald Trump in 2017, Mike Pence, as Indiana governor, notably spoke out against passing laws against gay discrimination, and proposed public funds for people wishing to "
change their sexual behavior
", in reference to treatments for homosexuality.

John Oliver had thus counter-attacked by publishing his own children's book on the vice-presidential rabbit, entitled

In this book, Marlon Bundo, a male rabbit, falls in love with another male rabbit, and the two end up getting married, snub to Mike Pence.
Both John Oliver and Charlotte Pence had pledged that profits from sales of both books would go to charity.
