The axes of the workshop organized by the Ministry of Communications and Technology today focused on presenting the latest developments in the “Syrian reliability of software companies” and explaining the specifications, conditions and procedures for obtaining them.

The participants in the workshop, which was held today at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, discussed the mechanism for obtaining accreditation, the expertise that companies must have, and the procedures they need in terms of cooperation with experts in charge of training, to be ready to apply for the acceptance test and obtain Syrian accreditation.

A number of participants from the owners of programming companies, software industry experts and information managers in the public sector raised topics related to the steps of reliability and its impact on the development of the software sector and mechanisms for implementing digital transformation projects and introducing the size of projects within the digital transformation strategy for government services.

Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, stated at the opening of the workshop that the Syrian national accreditation is one of several measures the ministry is working on to organize and develop this market and provide support to national software companies in light of the economic and technological siege imposed on Syria, pointing out that the number of programming companies in the market exceeds 60 after The software market has been studied in cooperation with the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics.

Minister Al-Khatib noted the importance of reliability within the digital transformation project for government services and its positive impact in terms of developing work, shortening the necessary effort for the project, reducing the financial cost and building confidence in the national company at the local and global levels to meet market requirements and for companies to be able to export their products.

In turn, the Director of Digital Transformation in the Ministry, Dr. Muhammad Muhammad, referred to the current projects that are being implemented in the foundational phase of the digital transformation strategy for government services, explaining that the main dependence at this stage is building national records, which requires a great deal of integration and high readiness of implementing companies, defined by the international standard. CMMI, on improving the performance of companies, and reviewed the benefits of reliability, areas of development, the stages of obtaining them, and the problems that companies face in implementing software.

Director of the Reliability Project at the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, Engineer Mahmoud Elias, talked about the association’s role in training companies to use tools to implement reliability in the easiest way, pointing out that the approved tools are universal and free to encourage companies to obtain reliability. Experts and consultants are also trained on a set of courses to reach the application of reliability easily. .

In turn, the Assistant Minister of Communications, Eng. Fadia Suleiman, pointed out in a statement to reporters the role of reliability in raising the efficiency of companies, indicating that it is obtained after passing a number of tests on the projects that companies are working on according to a unified standard level compatible with international standards.
