Uruguay: Montevideo wakes up with floods due to heavy rains

In the last few hours, a drop of water between 50 and 100 millimeters was recorded in Montevideo and 50 and 120 millimeters in Canelones.

-- Due to the intense rains that have been recorded in the last hours in Uruguay, Montevideo dawns this Monday with floods in different areas of the city.

As reported by the Intendancy on its Twitter account, crews have been working since dawn and made available "all their resources to deal with an unprecedented issue."

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) indicated that alerts are in force throughout the country due to storms and heavy rains.

According to preliminary information, in recent hours there has been a drop of water between 50 and 100 millimeters in Montevideo and 50 and 120 millimeters in Canelones.
