The Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Luna Al-Shibl, confirmed that the mutual visits between the Syrian and Russian sides did not stop for many years. In an interview with Russia Today, Al-Shibl stressed that the economic blockade against Syria is a war, and that breaking it is one of the defensive means that the Syrian state is using to confront this war.
Al-Shibl explained that the Syrian state is in a state of war and that the unjust Western economic blockade against it aims to paralyze the economy and target the living life of citizens, stressing that what the Syrian state is doing is trying to break this siege, as it was able to achieve this in several ways and secure the basic needs of citizens.
She said that the unilateral measures imposed on the Syrian people and state are a war, and it was expected that the Western countries that supported the terrorists and launched a war against Syria would fail to achieve their goals and move to the economic situation, and this is what they did, and therefore the siege is a war and breaking the siege is one of the defensive means of this war.
In response to a question about Russia's economic support for Syria, Al-Shibl indicated that it is natural for Syria to request the maximum that it can from the Russian ally, who in turn has provided and continues to offer the maximum that it can offer, whether during the war or now in the economic situation, and that the Russian role was effective in raising or mitigating The suffering of the Syrian people, whether through direct support or in the trade exchange between the two countries, she said, but as a result, no foreign economy can replace the role of the Syrian state, which has also done what it can do.
