A young woman wanted to bribe a police patrol with several thousand euros so that they would let her companion, who was driving under the influence of drugs, go free.

Very bad idea.

Schäftlarn

- On Monday, January 17th, 2022, at around 1.10 a.m., a patrol crew from the Grünwald police station stopped an Audi for a traffic check on Starnberger Straße in Schäftlarn.

The suspicion arose that the 31-year-old driver, a Romanian citizen without permanent residence in Germany, was driving under the influence of narcotics, the police report.

The officers took a report and explained the police measures to the driver.

Passenger offers the officials several thousand euros

According to the police, the 20-year-old passenger, also a Romanian national, went to the officials and offered them several thousand euros if they would not initiate proceedings and the 31-year-old could continue.

Whereupon the patrol immediately initiated criminal proceedings against the 20-year-old for attempted bribery.

20-year-old must deposit high security deposit

After consultation with the public prosecutor, the 20-year-old had to deposit a security deposit that exceeded the amount she had previously offered the officials.

After the police measures were completed, she was released.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Munich traffic police (traffic offense) and Commissariat 73 (attempted bribery).
