Police recommend giving up unnecessary travel or hiking in streams and areas that may be flooded in the face of inclement weather.

Due to the strong winds that can lead to the collapse of trees, pillars and the flying of various objects, the police are instructing the public to report any such hazard to the authorities as soon as possible.

Police have instructed to adjust the speed of travel to road conditions and slow down significantly when entering curves and making sharp turns.

The police explain that it is necessary to maintain a greater distance from the vehicle in front, and to drive slowly and carefully, especially when there is a cold on the road due to the danger of slipping.

In rainy weather, it is more difficult to spot pedestrians and brake in time if necessary, so police are instructed to slow down driving in residential areas and give right of way to pedestrians.

The steering wheel must be held with both hands, as entering the puddle with the vehicle, and potholes hidden by the accumulation of water on the road - can cause a sudden deviation of the vehicle.

The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, commented on the preparations for the stormy weather: "The Jerusalem municipality is prepared for the possibility of cold and snow. The emergency headquarters and relevant departments of the municipality are preparing for possible missions, briefing employees and ensuring the correctness of all necessary measures."

"Today, the dedicated Knesset will open, which coordinates all activities in such events, including the treatment of hazards, street children, drainage and the opening of arteries.

The municipal hotline will be strengthened with representatives in all languages, the municipal education system is prepared and current information regarding its operation will be provided continuously.

The salt distribution system in the main axes is set up, along with the readiness to operate mechanical engineering equipment for clearing the snow, if it piles up on the ground.

"The Jerusalem Municipality is in constant contact with all the corresponding parties - police, MDA, fire and rescue, electricity company and communications companies, all with the aim of providing professional and quality service to residents and visitors to the city. We call on everyone to drive carefully and maintain health and safety," Leon concluded.

Meanwhile, the Benjamin Regional Council began preparations as early as early in the morning, when council staff scanned the venues and, if necessary, blocked road sections.
